Nail Surgery for Ingrown Toenails

For some people, ingrown toenails are a severe or persistent problem that's difficult to manage. Nail surgery offers a long-term or permanent solution. After assessment, we might cut away part of the nail or remove it entirely. Sometimes permanent removal is required. 

Nail surgery is a short procedure using local anesthetic. It can take 2-6 weeks to heal fully; longer if the whole nail is removed. You can usually return to everyday activities within a few days, although you might want to hold off on running or other strenuous sports for a couple of weeks.
